Battling bed bugs

With the growing invasion of bed bugs in the United States - and the 15th most infested city being Minneapolis - I joked that we were just trendy after our own infestation hit. Suffice it to say I was not so flip when it all began...
Our downtown "luxury" apartment building was not immune to these ancient blood suckers. My daughter and I were getting covered in what looked like mosquito bites and itching like crazy for a month before we laid eyes on a suspect.
Having never had bugs before, my first reaction was to jump away from the reddish brown instinct crawling across my white couch. My second was to identify it. Within one minute of the call to the management office they knew exactly what they were. The exterminator arrived the next day.
